The 41st annual Capitol Hill Classic! We’re anxiously awaiting our registration partner being ready for us to accept registrations, which should take place by mid-week the week of March 7th.

Washington, DC’s largest and oldest 10K will bring runners through the roadways of historic Capitol Hill, past the U.S. Capitol, the Supreme Court, the Library of Congress, the Folger Shakespeare Library, Lincoln Park, and the newest green space on Capitol Hill, the new sports fields that are sprouting in the shadow of RFK Stadium.


10K race start: 8:30 AM
3K race start: immediately following conclusion of 10K (approximately 10:30 AM)
Fun run start: immediately following conclusion of 3K (approximately 11:00 AM)

Course Information:


The USATF-certified course for the 10K starts out in front of Peabody Primary School. Runners head west around the corner of Stanton Park to the U.S. Capitol, turning and passing in its shadow as well as past the U.S. Supreme Court and Library of Congress. After coming back behind the Library of Congress, runners head to the tree canopies along East Capitol Street, passing around Lincoln Park on their way to RFK Stadium. Once past RFK Stadium, runners head onto the Anacostia Riverwalk Trail. After a circle along the trail, runners head back in along East Capitol to return to the finish at Peabody.


The USATF-certified 3K course starts out in front of Peabody Primary School, heading west around the corner of Stanton Park before turning down to East Capitol Street. Runners continue in the shade of East Capitol to Lincoln Park before turning around and heading back to Peabody for the finish.

Fun Run

The Fun Run is a single lap around Stanton Park (approximately a third of a mile). Parents are welcome to run with their children; all finishers will receive medals!
