We are having a 50th Mountain Fair and the music and entertainment are going to be very special in this golden year. We are bringing back some of the favorite acts from previous years, sprinkled with some new music to ensure there is a little something for everyone!
Featuring more than 25 musicians and entertainers throughout the weekend
7:00: Mount Sopris Run-Off - Competition
A shorter, easier 4-mile downhill from the top of Prince Creek Road or the longer run over The Crown. The longer race starts at the Emma Schoolhouse with registration starting at 6:30 a.m. The 4-mile race registration will take place in Sopris Park at 7 a.m. A bus will transport racers to the top for the 4-mile at 7:15 a.m. A shuttle will also be available at 11 a.m. to take racers backto their vehicles. The race finishes at the Open Space.
9:00: Oasis Carnival Opens! - Oasis
10:00: Worstminster Dog Show - Hendricks Dog Park
Located in the Hendricks Dog Park this new event brings humans and animals together in fun and folly. Dress upyerself and yer dog and git on over there!
10:00: All Music Together - Oasis
Welcoming families, caregivers and parents with young children, to come sing and explore musical playtime with Annie Flynn and Jimmy Byrne. Come experience the love and the fun of Music Together!!
10:00: Crystal River Ballet - Gazebo
The students of Crystal River Ballet will present a condensed production of our spring show "Lion King" bringing the African savanna to life with Simba, Nala, Rafiki and an unforgettable cast of characters. Come along as they journey from Pride Rock to the jungle, and back again in this inspiring coming-of-age tale.
10:00: Community Crankie With Natalie Spears And The Roaring Fork Drawing Club - Artery
Collaboration involving community members to create and present an original Crankie. An experience of live-drawing, music, and storytelling.
10:30: Fly Casting Competition - Open Space

11:00: Bilingual Musical Storytime - Oasis
Alejandra Rico of Mexico and Holly Richardson of Colorado, Waldorf teachers, bring an interactive and nourishing journey of music, movement, lap games and puppetry in both Spanish and English especially for families with young children.
11:00: Pie Baking Competition
This year's theme is Shimmery, Shiny, Golden...Bring entries to the Judging Tent, located next to the pavilion between 10:30 and 10:45. Categories include Fruit, Cream and Exotic.
11:30: Comotion And Eric Baumheier Present - Artery
CoMotion and Eric Baumheier showcase solos, small ensembles & improvisation scores.
11:00: Mozart Divertimento - Gazebo
Mozart Divertimento will take you on a journey into an 18th century garden, and among the elegant fragrance is the blossom of the most delightful music. Curated and performed by MinTze Wu supported by: Jay Yiu (viola), Michael Graham (cello) with narration by Jem Moore.
Noon: Sopris Soarers - Gazebo
Sopris Soarers presents an aerial tribute to the decades from disco to the present see our youngest flyers portray the decades in a thrilling way.
Noon: Community Sing! - Oasis
The newly forming Carbondale Community Choir is hosting a light and lively singing session for all ages. Come move, sing, and learn songs to join with Sweet < Root during their Sunday morning Mountain Fair set. We invite you to help us fill the park with joyous song!
Noon: Singles Horseshoe Competition
Located in Glassier Park, two blocks south of Sopris Park on Weant Boulevard. Register at the Info Booth
12:30: Tug O War - Open Space
The Carbondale Police vs. The Carbondale Fire District. Place bets at the Info Booth. All proceeds go to a charity of the winners choice.
12:45: The Josefina Mendez Group - Gazebo
Combining rhythms, melodies, and different performance traditions that surpass the boundaries between language and culture. Accompanied by pianist Tim Fox, saxophonist Chris Bank, bassist Mike Facey and drummer Kevin Matthews.
1:00: Women's Voices With Music, Dance, and Stories - Artery
Inspired by CORE'S Stories of Climate Change/Voces de Mujeres con Musica, Danza, y Historias - inspiradas en las Historias de CORE Sobre el Cambio Climatico: Intergenerational women's voices weave together Bach, Ballads, and Ballet to share powerful stories inspired by climate change. Featuring MinTze Wu, Adelaide Moore, Camille Moore, Alexandra Jerkunica, & Natalie Spears.
1:00: Kids Umbo Contest - Oasis
You kids are flexible and fun. Test your skills in this Limbo Contest!
2:00: Cello-Bration - Oasis
Cellists from The Waldorf School led by Roberto Arundale of the Aspen Music Festival perform works from the 1770's to now. Come here the cellos perform together in this cello-bration you wont want to miss!
2:00: Adult Limbo Contest - Open Space
How low can you go?? The height to beat is 1 '4"! Join Dr. Umbo, Mr. Foulkrod and live drummers for some friendly competition. Must be 18 years or older!
2:00: The Red Hill Rollers - Bandwagon
Logan Fletcher, Delaney Meyers and Jeanette Adams are a bluegrass and folk group made up of three voices and fourteen strings. Based in Carbondale, they derive their name from a local landmark and their sound from the community at large. Introspective lyrics, vocal harmonies and varying instrumental leads are the name of the game. The Band Wagon will roll towards Cleveland Place and neighboring hoods!
2:45: Jackson Emmerband - Gazebo
Arterysinger, songwriter, and producer from Carbondale, Colorado. Emmer's writing is often compared to that of John Prine and Guy Clark.
3:00: Cafe Du Mer Lounge And Aquatic Games - Oasis
Get on a bathing suit and have fun in the pool. Great way to cool down. Pool fee $5 all weekend.
4:00: Women's Woodsplitting Competition - Open Space
Hottest competition at the Fair! Social distancing is hard at this popular event so wear a mask and make some noise! Hosted byjorie DiVilbiss, Big Ben Ludlow and Diesel Dan.
4:00: Hugh Phillips Band - Bandwagon
Asa full 4-piece electric band they deliver the great vintage country/Americana sounds through originals and great covers you love. The Band Wagon will start downtown and head to Senior Housing and neighborhoods across Hwy. 133.
4:00: Family Friendly Open Mike - Oasis
Hosted by local teen Emmett Garcelon, Master Magician. Individuals or small groups are invited to offer their talents in words, movement, song, etc. that may uplift, inspire, entertain fair going families. Come all and join the legend this afternoon.
5:00: Kids Aerial Open Play - Gazebo
Get into costume and try out the aerial silks with Sopris Soarers
5:00: Bonedale Flashmob - Gazebo
A delight brought to us yearly by Bonedale Ballet. Solid gold hits.
5:15: The Reminders - Gazebo
The Reminders are a rare and remarkable musical duo seamlessly blending soulful sounds and roots music with insightful messages and thoughtful lyrics. They played virtually last year but are too good not to bring back for a real Mountain Fair audience.
7:00: Sopris Soarers - Gazebo
Get ready to sing,along get loud and wowed as Sopris Soarers takes you on a Journey through the decades. A high flying tribute to the eras biggest hits.
7:55: Spoken Word With Alya - Gazebo
8:00: The Motet - Gazebo
A favorite at Mountain Fair over the years, performing in 2000 and 2004 Carbondale Arts is thrilled to bring them back for the 50th. Since 1998, The Motet has " inspired the world with their unique style of dance music. The band traverses the lines between funk, soul, jazz, and rock.
9:00: Carnival Closes - Oasis
Hot Tip: Make sure your Mountain Fair story is part of history. The Carbondale History Booth will be recording stories from 10 am - noon and 4 pm-5 pm on Saturday and Sunday. Pop in and record yours.
