Celebrating Ossining’s Ed Malsberg’s 100th Birthday with an exhibit of his work

Ed Malsberg's Centennial Retrospective - We celebrate Ossining’s very own artistic treasure, Edward Malsberg’s on his 100th Birthday with a retrospective exhibit of his life's artwork at Bethany Arts Community, The Exhibition Opening Reception will be on  April 26 and will be on display through May 31, 2019 with a Closing Reception & 100th Birthday Celebration. There will also be “A Conversation with Ed”. A native of Boston, Ed Malsberg graduated from the Massachusetts College of Art in 1940; he graduated with a Fine Arts Degree & also did an extensive study of printmaking at the School of the Boston Museum of Fine Arts. During WW2, he served overseas in a topography unit and on the staff of Stars and Stripes European edition as an artist. After the war, he began a lengthy career as a free-lance illustrator, which spanned over 75 years in New York, working in advertising and publishing. Ed's clients included major advertising agencies and book publishers and the subject matter ranged from humorous, decorative illustration, to science, natural history, biology, physiology, children’s books and textbooks.  He also won an award from the American Institute of Graphic Arts in 1968 for book illustration. These days, Ed is engaged in his lifelong passion for landscape painting, in his favorite watercolor medium, and being a member of our arts community. Bethany Arts Community, along with Ossining Arts Council, which Ed has been a long time member, need and sincerely appreciate YOUR help with Funding for preparing and framing Ed's pieces for the exhibition. You can offer your support through a GoFundMe campaign set up for this effort.
