The Stratford Library is offering a free chair yoga program for area residents running weekly Wednesdays, 11:30 am to 12:30 pm on May 1, 8, 15 and 22.
Chair Yoga is a weekly, gentle, mellow and restorative movement practice for anyone looking to heal, grow in strength, flexibility and stamina---no matter what their fitness level. It is practiced sitting on a chair, or standing using a chair for support.
Chair Yoga is for:
- Aging and loss of mobility and strength – great for everyone NOT just seniors!
- Illness or injury that needs healing movement.
- Learning techniques you can use while sitting at a desk, in a Dr’s waiting room or even while stuck in traffic!
- Helping anxiety, depression and cognitive function.
Instructor for the Chair Yoga series will be Romy Ganser, a Certified Holistic Health Practitioner who holds additional certifications in Chair Yoga Instruction and Hands on Healing. Participants should wear comfortable clothes and bring a yoga mat. Doors open at 11:15am, class begins promptly at 11:30am.
