Nothing says summer like the annual East Grand Rapids Fourth of July celebration! The City invites the community to celebrate America’s birthday. A special thanks to title sponsor Corewell Health for making this celebration possible. The 2024 celebration will feature the parade, activities at John Collins Park and a fireworks show over Reeds Lake.

Schedule of Events

12pm: Parade.

1pm-3:30pm: Kids inflatables, food trucks and water ski show by Grand City Show Skiers.

8pm. to dusk: Full Cord concert.

Dusk: Fireworks show over Reeds Lake.

Parade
The parade will begin at the intersection of Sherman Street and Wealthy Street and continue east on Wealthy Street, turning left on Lakeside Drive and ending at Reeds Lake Boulevard.

For the community’s safety, it is critical spectators remain off the road. If you are interested in participating in the parade, complete this form. For details, call the Parks and Recreation Department at 616.949.1750.

Fireworks Show
Watch the fireworks over Reeds Lake at John Collins Park, the high school track practice field or the middle school field.

Fireworks will be permitted in East Grand Rapids 11am-11:45pm. June 29-July 4 per Michigan law. They are prohibited on public, church, school or private property without express permission from the property owner or a permit from the City.

Boat Ramp Reminder
The boat ramp will be closed 8:15-9:30am,11am-4pm and 8pm-11pm on July 4.
