Our Diabetes Education Classes help you to learn how to better manage your diabetes at home.

The group format allows multiple clinicians to present and facilitates discussion among peers who may be going through the same challenges. Educational Topics covered in each class are as follows:

-Risk Factors

-Acute Complications

-Goal Setting

Class #2

-Carbohydrate Counting

-Healthy Eating Tips

-Meal Planning

-Label Reading

Class #3

-Medications

-Exercise & physical activity plan

-Survival Skills

The classes are covered by most insurance policies, although some require a copay. Insurance eligibility is checked prior to each appointment.

Classes are held on the first three Thursdays of each month from 8:00-9:30

6th Floor of the Pasquerilla Health Center (PHC) Building on the campus of MedStar Georgetown University Hospital.
