Deena, Effie, and Lorrell, a young, black female singing trio, get their big break in the 1960’s at an amateur competition and are hired to be backup singers for a successful artist. Things get complicated when their agent decides to make Deena, not Effie, the star. This vibrant musical was inspired by the rise of the Supremes and recounts the often manipulative practices in the world of professional music.
