Kids Tug of War:

Line the kids up and let the craziness begin as they compete for bragging rights as the strongest Kinder at the festival. This classic competition will take place around 2:00PM throughout the festival weekend and is a great kid’s activity to keep children active and laughing as you enjoy your bier in the background.

Chicken Dance:

The Chicken Dance is for everybody and there will be plenty of opportunities to shake your tail feathers. Throughout the weekend, make sure to join in the dance when you hear the song. And don’t worry about looking silly – that’s the point!

Pretzel Toss:

The classic game of ring toss gets a German makeover!  Plungers, pretzels, and the cheer when there’s a “ringer”… what more needs to be said?

Brat Toss:

Grab a partner and toss a few brats. Teams must complete a toss to-and-fro to see who can get the most brats in their bucket. Careful not to break them as you may end up tossing twice as much. Game on!

Cornhole:

The classic lawn game in which contestants take turns pitching their bean bags at the cornhole platform until they reach a score of 21 points. A bean bag in the hole scores 3 points, while one on the platform scores 1 point. Grab your friends and join us for some friendly competition.

Nagelbalken:

The objective is simple: to drive a nail into a cross section of wood faster than your opponents. Easy you say? Well then, we will see you at the Duluth Oktoberfestival to see if you actually have what it takes!

Barrel Roll:

Feeling strong? In the Barrel Roll, players will push a barrel through the course while racing against the competition. Rules are simple: push the barrel to the finish line as fast as you can. A leader board will be updated throughout the weekend with the fastest times so start stretching now if you want to be crowned the Barrel Roll Champion!

Well you’re in luck because we’ve partnered with Lake Superior Helicopters to bring you some exclusive helicopter rides and tours for all ages to enjoy. Registration will be available at the festival itself or you can pre-register today to save some money and reserve your spot.

Bier:

The main Bier Hall will feature dancing, live music, and did we mention lots of bier?  Das Zelt will be the center of our German cultural world and will transport you across the ocean to Munich complete with authentic music, food, and the biers of Bavaria.

The original Oktoberfest in Munich celebrated the local bier breweries and their craft, so, in honor of their noble intentions, the Duluth Oktoberfestival will also feature a variety of regional craft breweries in addition to our main German bier.

This year’s Duluth Oktoberfestival also features a variety of authentic food including brats, sausages, schnitzel, strudel, funnel cakes, roasted almonds and much more!

Der Kinderplatz:

Der Kinderplatz offers a fun variety of children’s activities and entertainment at the Duluth Oktoberfestival.

Settled by the Arts & Crafts Markthaus, der Kinderplatz is full of fun for for all ages. Grab a shady spot under a tree to relax with friends and family while your kids get active and participate in all that the Kinderplatz  has to offer including giant inflatables, music courses, painting classes, cookie decorating, and much more!
