Guitarist and Branford resident Neal Fitzpatrick will present a regular, monthly program of music for classical guitar. Each session will feature a different era, genre, or style from the vast repertoire for classical guitar. Programs will include music from the major eras of Western Music encompassing the Renaissance, Baroque, Classical, Romantic eras, as well as works from the 20th Century and Modern era-the body of music for classical guitar is indeed an abundance of riches! Neal will sometimes be joined by his colleagues in the Connecticut chamber music scene and his students for solo and ensemble performances.

The focus of this month's program will be Guitar Music of Latin America, featuring works from Brazil, Argentina, Paraguay, Venezuela, and Cuba. The music for guitar originating from Latin America is an abundance of riches for the guitar repertoire and is something we hope you'll enjoy. Featured on the program are works by Heitor Villa-Lobos, Leo Brouwer, Julio Sagreras, and more.

About Neal Fitzpatrick

Neal Fitzpatrick, a Connecticut native, received his BM degree from the Hartt School-University of Hartford and his Masters degree from the Yale School of Music. He is an active soloist and chamber musician, and has performed at diverse venues such as Yale Art Gallery, Woolsey Hall with the New Haven Symphony, and 92nd St. Y in New York City. He teaches out of his studio in Branford,CT where he teaches all styles and levels of guitar. He also teaches banjo, mandolin, bass guitar and pretty much anything with strings and frets. When taking a break from music Neal can be found reading about American and world history or watching auto sports and the New York Rangers.
