Westport photographer Richard Frank documented the entire two-year renovation of the Library. While photographing the workers, he was impressed with their skills and pride in the quality of their work. This exhibit offers an ode to the craftsmen behind the new building.
Frank's career in photography was originally triggered by a chance, last-minute decision to take a photography class in his last semester of college. He went on to enroll in an MFA program at Ohio University, but his stay was cut short by the Draft. Even so, while at OU, he had learned the essence of the craft of photography, started establishing his point of view, and began identifying the American social landscape and portraiture as his preferred subjects.
