“After You” documents a creative experiment conducted by three local artists Bart Jeczmienny, Kim Abraham, and Troy Zaushny.  In this experiment, one of the three artists would start by offering a new artwork as a source of inspiration. Then, one of the others would create an entirely new piece based on it. This, in turn, is offered as inspiration for a third piece by the remaining artist. The goal is to witness the transformation of a concept as it filters through the varying styles and perspectives of each artist. The results have been unexpected and exciting.

Troy Zaushny is celebrating 30 consecutive years of writing “artist” as his occupation on the IRS 1040 form. Known best for his innovative printmaking techniques, paintings and murals, this Hygienic Resident Artist also refurbishes and customizes vintage typewriters.

‘After You’ will feature Troy’s new works and artistic directions, inspired by very good friends.

Kim Abraham has been creating art, curating exhibits, and teaching yoga in New London for over 10 years. She is the owner of the Kitchen Gallery and The Yoga School and a former Hygienic Artist in Residence. Despite the cheery themes and happy colors, her work is steeped in rage and darkness.

Bart Jeczmienny is an amateur self- taught artist working mostly in black and white. His creations are simply the expressions of his primal need to create. Bart has frequently exhibited his artwork at the Wauregan and Hygienic Galleries.“After You” documents a creative experiment conducted by three local artists Bart Jeczmienny, Kim Abraham, and Troy Zaushny.  In this experiment, one of the three artists would start by offering a new artwork as a source of inspiration.
