Exhibition - Barbara Grad: It's About Tomorrow

Thursday, Apr 2, 2020 from 11:00am to 5:00pm

"My work is inspired by the experience of everyday living and a search for an alternative landscape painting of modernity. It is a study to honor and respect nature but also to reinvent it to exist in the present tense. It is neither an abstract nor familiar illusion, but somewhere in between, in an unstable place of today.

I work in a studio, in a private way, but in relation to my world experience. I use my hands and get dirty to understand the physicality of paint. It is messy thinking and the imagery is a way of visualizing ideas. It is not storytelling but, instead, associations and connections of color, shape, and space. Reality shapes my imagination and my imagination shapes a painted idea."
