Shorebirds along the Delaware Bay have fattened up on Horseshoe Crab eggs and are ready to fly thousands of miles to the arctic to nest. Watch the skies at Bucktoe Creek Preserve in the evening to witness impressive flights of plovers, sandpipers, Whimbrel, Red Knot, Ruddy Turnstones and other species flying north in huge flocks. This is also the time of year to see the rare Mississippi Kite, and the rarer Swallow-tailed Kite, beautiful raptors of the southern US, rarely seen in our region. Bring your favorite beverage, picnic dinner, and get ready for beautiful scenery, and exciting birding. Lots of laughs and new friends await. Led by Larry Lewis
