Fright Fest, presented by Snickers, is back for select days September 15 October 31 at Six Flags Great Adventure. It's a spooky time of year as zombies and ghouls take over the park. Enjoy thrills and activities for the whole family throughout the day and come back for a truly frightening evening of fun after the sun goes down. Fright Fest offers a wide variety of places to get your scare on including seven haunted mazes and five scare zones located throughout the park. The stuff of nightmares lurk around every corner as the dark of night washes over the park. The ghouls are set free for their daily hunting rituals. Beware. There is no place to hide.

Attraction:
Only the bravest of souls dare to enter our haunted mazes. You'll be blindsided by darkness as you find your way through the labyrinth all while being hunted never knowing what is around the next corner.

Hell Fest:
It's time for fall. It's TIME FOR FEAR. IT’S TIME FOR THE FEST. Experience the maze from the movie Hell Fest in theaters this Fall   where all of your screams come true. It’s fun going in…but it’s hell getting out. Travel from room to room, terrorized by the grasping arms of the undead, haunted by dolls with minds of their own, and tormented by masked statues that spring to life when you least expect.  Attempt to make your way through the maze with more and more frights around each corner.  The deeper into the maze you go, the end just seems further out of sight. Will you make it out alive. From iconic horror producer Gale Anne Hurd 'The Walking Dead') and director Gregory Plotkin who returns to the director’s chair after editing hit horror films Happy Death Day and Get Out HELL FEST is in theaters Sept. 28th.

Wicked Woods:
We are sure we're not the first ones to advise you against walking alone in the woods at night. The Wicked Woods got their name from the horrifying stories that take place within their sharp branches. Williams Woods had always been a hot topic of debate in Winston, Named for Troy Williams who went missing there 50 years ago on a camping trip. His remains were hardly the only ones said to haunt the winding paths of brambles and branches. Through the years the area had become quite the legend, attracting more and more young people to challenge themselves and their friends to survive a night in the woods, something Troy had not done. The campground had been deserted for years. After Troy mysteriously went missing, they had to shut down due to lack of visitation. The story of the way they'd found Troy: mangled, manipulated and destroyed spread across the newspapers around the state. Cause of death was never determined and no one or nothing was ever caught. Every year, it is inevitable that a group of youngsters decides to camp out around Halloween. The fall air, leafless trees and bright moon serve as the best light all year in the otherwise pitch dark woods. Although no one has gone missing again, campers report terrible thumping, groaning and stomping noises, snapping branches and unsettled wildlife on their overnight stays. Some have even emerged with bloody knees and scraped hands, falling in their escape from whatever they claim was chasing them. This year is the 50th anniversary of Troy Williams' disappearance. Take caution in the Wicked Woods, whatever got him may be looking to strike again this Halloween season.

Reflections of the Dead:
Mirrors bring a whole new kind of terror, worse than any bad hair day ever could, in Reflections of the Dead. These mirrors bring more than meets the eye as Ms. Fortune will warn. Spirits of the dead have been trapped as reflections in the mirrors and are trying to escape their fate by inhabiting humans and objects. Beware of the particularly mean and selfish spirits who will stop at nothing to get out. Ms. Fortune keeps the world safe by storing her collection of artifacts among the mirrors. The spirits have possessed them and if they got into the wrong hands the consequences would be unimaginable. You'll never know what's real, who's a reflection or where the spirits will try to trap you. Hands off, you wouldn't want to put a smudge on your chance for a future beyond the mirrors.

Aftermath:
It seemed as though it had been a bad dream. Calvin slowly rose from the ground, rubbing the knot on his head. Where was he. How had he gotten there. As he stood, he noticed nothing but thick, orange fog swirling around him and steam or smoke rising from buildings in the distance. Where was everyone. It was as though he was in another dimension. Calvin got up and started shuffling down the road. It was crumbling. Sounds started filtering through the orange abyss. The sounds swirled around in his ears. Birds screeching or people screaming. It was not immediately obvious and that made Calvin even more uneasy. As he continued walking, he thought he saw a figure approaching him in the distance. The form got closer and he recognized her. Meg, his girlfriend. Now he remembered, before he woke up the last thing he remembered was walking with her, on their way to an anniversary dinner. Meg got closer and something seemed off. He screamed her name and she continued to approach him, but seemed not to hear him. There was foam on the sides of her mouth and her eyes looked blank, empty. Calvin began to back away. This was not his Meg. Suddenly a net fell from the sky, knocking Meg to the ground and trapping her. Another figure came from the darkness. 'Speak,' he said. 'Hello,' Calvin replied. At that, the man grabbed him and brought him to the ground. There had been an accident, he explained. An underground government research facility was compromised and all of their inmates had escaped. Suddenly the world was turned upside down. No one left could be trusted. They may be infected. Calvin and the stranger proceeded into the fast approaching darkness in search for a place to spend the night. The next day, if they made it that far, they would embark on a mission to survive the Aftermath.

Big Top Terror: Forgotten Carnival in 3D:
Stan and Deb couldn’t wait to finish out the college semester. They were looking forward to a long, relaxing summer break. The last thing they expected was for their father to enlist them to help clean out grandma’s basement since she had just settled into her new accommodations at Shady Acres Nursing Home. Deb remembered the posters they found in the basement of Grandma’s house and asked about them. Grandma’s eyes widened and she began to speak lucidly. This particular carnival was home to the most tortured and mutilated species, both human and beast, she said. Animals and freaks alike ferociously yanked on their chains and gnashed their teeth against the rusting steel bars. She said an evil ringmaster named Malachy lost a bet with the devil, resulting in the banishment of his carnival to the netherworld. Grandma began to panic and begged the twins not to go because the ringmaster needed innocent souls to free his creatures and himself.

Cell Block 6:
Plunge into the twisted depths of a haunted prison, where inmates are racing against time to escape before it’s too late. The Great New Jersey prison housed the most devious and maniacal prisoners and the most evil guards who choose to keep watch over them. The prisoners were treated terribly by the guards for the delusional crimes they committed, locked in their empty cells with no reprieve for meals or yard time. They were angry but there was little they could do to fight the orders of the prison master. On a stormy night during meal distribution, lightning struck the facility and caused a power outage throughout the building. The inmates rebelled against the staff, seeking revenge for their terrible treatment. They grabbed scalpels and scissors from the infirmary and roamed the halls of the prison. Every security guard and staff member was caught and tortured in the dark corridors.

The Manor:
Only the brave will survive the haunted hallways of The Manor, while the weak will succumb to the terror around every corner. The manor on Jackson Street was the largest house on the block, but it was very run down. As an eager young carpenter, Jeffrey bought the estate in the hopes of renovating the abandoned property to make it a beautiful home he could flip for a big profit. Jeffrey entered the house to begin his construction project and found bloodstained walls, rodent and bug infestations, hundreds of old jars filled with mysterious substances, and rusty medical tools covered in cobwebs. He cleaned the mess and often worked overnight to complete his renovation. Neighbors often complained about hearing Jeffrey’s construction tools in the middle of the night, but one night, they heard something completely different coming from the house screams. They thought the carpenter had hurt himself so they rushed over to check on him, and found him lying dead in the kitchen with a nail through his heart.

Fears:
Everyone has that one thing that terrifies them. Sometimes it's a secret, too embarrassing to voice. Other times it's well known to those around you because you cannot stifle your screams. What are your nightmares made of. Are there clowns lurking around a corner. Endless darkness with no light in sight. Small spaces breed claustrophobia even for those too ashamed to admit it. Your childhood dolls perhaps were once an item of comfort but now you cannot stare into their cold, lifeless eyes. Always watching. Some say those who are not aware of their fears should be the most intimidated. What will unknowingly put you over the edge. Where will you be when it happens. How will you avoid it for the rest of your life. Not sure what you're afraid of. Bet we can figure it out. Join us.

Scare Zones:
There is no 'leisurely stroll' during Fright Fest. Terror isn't confined to Haunted Attractions. The ghouls have spread into the streets to 'greet' you as you make your way to your next fright. There are zombies and ghouls lurking in every corner just waiting for you. Stay Alert.

Demon District:
The charming cobblestone streets, detailed stonework and pristine landscaping of this once idyllic town are just a distant memory. All of the major film studios all packed up and left at the first sign of trouble. The beautiful starlets who once flocked to this place with the hopes of 'making it big' packed up their suitcases and hopped the first bus out of town. If they could see it now, they would all be glad they left when they did. Who can say how it really started. The overcrowding of prisons. Lack of institutional funding. A society that accepts no blame or consequence. Moral decay. Contemplating how such a thing could have happened is probably wasted thought. What matters now is figuring out how to survive the total mayhem, now that it has happened. The first key is never venturing out after dark. The beautiful streetlamps were replaced by green searchlights and sharp laser beams they certainly do not provide enough light to see what might be lurking ahead, or behind. Or maybe even above. And the fog enshrouds everything. As if this place wasn’t already creepy enough. The second key is knowing what to do if you are unfortunate enough to encounter one of them.

CarnEvil:
Creepy clowns have taken over. Watch your back, because they’re known for destroying your fun, and possibly your life. Lulu loved his job as a clown in the local circus. He enjoyed making the audience smile, and the other performers loved his friendly attitude. When producers decided to cut the budget, the beloved clown was let go. He was responsible for making people laugh, and he didn’t believe people could have fun without him. Devastated and angry, Lulu craved revenge on anyone still having fun. He was going to prove that the circus would be a complete disaster without his silly antics. During the next nightly performance, Lulu made his move. Just as the sword swallower was finishing his routine, the spotlights flickered and came crashing down to the ground, crushing the performers. The whole tent went pitch dark. A creepy clown laugh came over the sound system and announced that audience members were about to have the 'fright of their life.' He used a glow necklace to scope out the area and found that all the circus performers lay dead in a puddle of blood in the center of the venue. With the clown’s devilish smirk glowing in the light, audience members raced for the exits, only to find that the tent had been tied shut.

Lady of the Lake Cemetery:
Guinevere was a humble young woman who loved to walk along the lake front in the evening. She loved everything about it, the sights, the smells, the sounds and the view of the moon through the mist and the trees. She used it as her time to get away from her large family and dreamed of meeting a man and moving to a big city.
One evening, on her usually quiet walk, she encountered a very handsome man. He introduced himself and asked if he could join her on he walk. She agreed and they walked and talked for hours. Each night, they met at the lake and talked about the futures they imagined and getting out of New Jersey to see the world. After months of their courtship, the young man proposed marriage to Guinevere and she squealed in excitement. Why wait. They decided they would be married in secret the next evening under the full moon along the lake. The ceremony was beautiful and quiet, just as they planned. However, when the clock struck midnight, something strange began to happen. Guinevere stared in horror as her new husband began to transform into a monster right before her eyes. Could it be that he was the real Jersey Devil. She had heard stories and rumors but never thought it to be true. Now it was all happening so fast and she was so terrified and distraught she turned and ran into the lake to escape the predator. The only problem was that Guinevere could not swim. The Jersey Devil brought her to her demise that night and ever since, her spirit haunts the lake front. In the 200 years since this fateful night, the lake front has been turned into a graveyard. Mourning families looking to honor the dead under the full moon report sightings and eerie happenings throughout the area. Will you brave the walk along the shore that forever belongs to Guinevere.

Bone Butcher Terror tory:
Zombies have returned from the ground to seek revenge on the living and terrorize those who travel through Frontier Adventures. Bob was the most loved cowboy in the Old West. However, when he failed to capture the most wanted criminal in the town, he was locked up in jail and stripped of his honorary title. One day, the sheriff passed Bob’s jail cell and found him hanging from the ceiling. The doctors proclaimed him dead, and he was buried the next day in the western cemetery. One night, the guard heard a tapping coming from the graveyard. He roamed the area with his flashlight, and the pounding got louder as he approached Bob’s grave. After a few moments, this cowboy zombie sprung from his grave. He was vengeful on all the local townspeople who stripped him of his reputation. With a giant meat cleaver in his band, Bob attacked the security guard, gouging his eyes, tearing off his limbs, and breaking every bone in his body. His horrifying acts, prompted townsfolk to refer to him as 'Bad Bob the Bone Butcher.' He freed all the undead from their graves, and these western zombies run rampant in Frontier Adventures seeking revenge on all the humans who put them in the ground.

The Bloody Fountain:
Colonial zombies roam the Liberty Fountain and Main Street area, waiting to feast on the brains of guests who pass too close. Six Flags Great Adventure was built on top of an old graveyard. One day, park guests suddenly started disappearing. They were seen roaming the streets around town, but their minds just weren’t with them. They were empty inside and totally entranced. It all started when Eric Yeager, a soldier in the Continental Army, rose from his grave below the park. He traveled in search of food, but the park’s burgers, chicken tenders, and pizza didn’t sound appetizing. Instead, Eric grabbed an unsuspecting passerby, tore his skull open, and feasted on his brains. This person joined him on his quest for brains, and the zombie infection began. Now with a troop of over 30 in his brigade, the zombies roam the streets of the park. They can’t control themselves, and these blood thirsty creatures in blue and red coats are hungry for their next meal. They often split up, biting into anyone that gets in their way. As they wander around the Liberty Fountain and Main Street, they can’t wait to feast on living guests who pass too close.

The Awakening:
Understanding the story of James Reed and the haunting of Jackson requires us to go back in time to the origins of this land. Early settlers were farmers. And for hundreds of years, the land meant life. In 1849, James sailed from England across the Atlantic and settled in this quiet and peaceful town. He kept to himself and worked the land. But peace and quiet would soon be no more. James developed a fascination with the fall. Leaves losing their vibrant colors and falling from the branches, frost settling across the fields causing tender crops to die. The slow decay of rotting flesh. James found the greatest beauty in the grotesque. And, in death. One could say this fascination became an obsession. Could he fill his world with tragic beauty and sew the seeds of evil. It drove him to a book of black magic. Among the townspeople, there were whispers of necromancy and witchcraft .Of using spells and potions to alter the universe and conjure the spirits. Perhaps they were right. James began having visions. Spirits from the past and the future calling him, empowering him, changing him. Under a full moon sky, James disappeared and was never seen in human form again. Every fall since the disappearance of James Reed, history says that an army of evil spirits infest and haunt this land casting mayhem and destruction wherever they go. It is said that these evil spirits unite to bring back Mr. Reed, this doctor of fright to fulfill his dreams of bringing the beauty of decay to his once peaceful home of Jackson, and to revel in terrorizing all of the mortals in their wake.

Rides:
CYBORG Cyber Spin:
Six Flags Great Adventure debuts a brand new, first of its kind ride with CYBORG Cyber Spin. This new adventure, like its namesake, features state of the art technology, for a thrilling anti gravity experience like no other. After approaching this seven story giant through Metropolis, you'll board a 24 seat gondola and prepare to take to the skies. As the ride raises off the ground, the ride begins to spin on all three axis independently as the movements grow larger and faster and you fly head over heels for an out of this world ride like nothing you've ever experienced before. As the spinning slows, CYBORG brings the axis back together and lowers you back to earth. You've now been properly trained by the teen titan himself and are ready to join the rest of the JUSTICE LEAGUE right next door on JUSTICE LEAGUE: Battle for Metropolis.

Nitro:
Nitro is a new breed of thrill ride they call a Hypercoaster, which translates into utterly over the top, speed, height, and airtime. Can you feel the hype. The seating situation is minimal—no shoulder restraints, no sides on the cars you’ll really feel like you’re just flying through space at insane speeds. You’re going to have little time to gather up your courage, because that first hill is a staggering 233 feet high. As you crest the top, you’re so high up you can literally see Philadelphia. But you won’t get to enjoy the view for long because almost immediately you’ll be thrust down a 215 ft drop. The look of the track itself is one of the most mind blowing elements of this ride. It’s so slim and sleek; you’ll feel like you’re cutting through the air on a tiny thread of steel. You’ll be flying at 80 mph as you zoom into the second hill, up yet another 181 feet high over the treetops, and down so fast you’ll lift right out of your seat in pure weightlessness. But don’t get too used to it, because you’re about to blast into the totally original hammerhead U turn, a paralyzing swift reversal. You’ll face an entire mile of that slim, modern, lightning fast track, as it delivers you to a pair of gut munching horizontal loops, a crazy 540 degree helix spiral, and then a series of camelback hills to finish you off. And that’s definitely something to get hyped about.

BATMAN The Ride:
Fly Like a Bat. We Provide the Wings. BATMAN The Ride will show you what it feels like to be BATMAN, on this deeply intense 50 mile per hour juggernaut that is definitely not for the timid. Show your strength and bravery as you take on GOTHAM’s criminal element. Deep in Movie Town, check out the authentic BATMOBILE on the decaying backstreets of GOTHAM CITY. But lucky for you, this is no movie. You’re about to load up in the batcave to star in your very own dark and riveting adventure.
You’re about to fight crime suspended from an overhead track, with your feet just dangling free in the air. Following a 10 story lift to the top of the world, brace yourself for a full 360 degree loop right off the bat. You’re a global super hero, you don’t need to warm up. After escaping that obstacle, now there’s a fully inverted roll, then a second loop waiting for you about ten seconds later. Next you’ll be pounded by a double set of wingovers and corkscrew descents with enough G force to plaster you to your seat. How do a whopping 4 G’s sound. Because that’s what you’ll be taking right about now. All in all, you’ll face a mind warping five inversions. Watch the ground under your dangling feet whip around as the city below flips over and over, through a tightly packed series of gravity defying twists that will grind you into submission just like the criminals of GOTHAM CITY.

Zumanjaro: Drop of Doom:
Six Flags Great Adventure boasts Zumanjaro: Drop of Doom, a record breaking drop ride featuring breathtaking views, impressive heights, astonishing speeds, stomach tightening drops, and an adrenaline rush like no other. It is the tallest and fastest drop ride in the world, lifting riders up 415 feet in the air and rocketing back down at 90 miles per hour. First, your eight person gondola blasts to the top of the 415 foot structure in approximately 30 seconds. You pause for a moment to check out the aerial view of the park and anticipate the rapid heart racing plummet coming up next. Everything soon becomes a blur as gravity pulls your gondola downwards at 90 miles per hour, reaching ground level again in less than 10 seconds — before you even have time to scream. The three soaring Zumanjaro towers share their structure of the record breaking Kingda Ka coaster. Zumanjaro: Drop of Doom was inspired by the African theme of Safari Off Road Adventure, last summer’s new attraction that created the world’s largest theme park.

BIZARRO:
What if a super hero had all the power of SUPERMAN, but decided to use it for evil. Welcome to the twisted world of BIZARRO, SUPERMAN’s dark evil twin. With seven relentless inversions—the most you’ll find in the entire park—let’s see if you can face up to this dangerous and demented foe. 3,985 feet is a lot of track, and plenty of time for you to get to know BIZARRO and the backward 'S' stamped on his chest. You’ll see every inch of that track because you’ll be taking this one floorless, with your feet just dangling in the air. BIZARRO hasn’t got the charm part of being a super hero down yet, he just bluntly cuts right to the action. Let’s kick things off with a 132 foot drop. Then BIZARRO will shoot you through a terrifying tunnel of white mist, in the shape of his stolen SUPERMAN shield. Brace yourself because you’re in for one of the tallest vertical loops in the world—a whopping 114 feet. At least BIZARRO is ambitious. This is followed immediately by a dreaded dive loop and a zero G roll. Watch out for the explosions of fire going off right in your face. At 60 miles per hour and taking as much as 4 Gs, you’re probably starting to figure out what it feels like to have super hero strength, both with and without gravity. Now it’s time to fly into a cobra roll, a double inversion that forms the shape of a snake head, spitting you back out even faster in the same direction you started. But tell that villain you’ve got some moves of your own by now, darting towards the insane finish with a hellacious helix, a couple of interlocking corkscrews, and a sick hammerhead turn, as fast as a speeding … well, you get the idea.

THE JOKER:
Six Flags Great Adventure’s 14th and most unique coaster is nothing to laugh at. After heading straight up a 12 story, 90 degree hill, this 4 D, free fly coaster wreaks havoc as you flip head over heels along the weightless journey. You will experience exhilarating leaps and dives along a horizontal plane, along with unexpected drops as you tumble from one level to the next. The wing seats amp up the pandemonium since you will experience all of this chaos with no track above or below just the sky, ground and adjacent Great Lake churning around you.

Green lantern:
Hal Jordan rose from test pilot to the superhero Green lantern—an icon of courage, confidence, and strength. These are three qualities you will need to have in abundance to take a seat on this utterly insane ride. Except you won’t be sitting, because Green lantern is a stand up coaster. You won’t believe how smooth this ride is, considering you are flying at 63 miles per hour—all while standing up. Humans just weren’t designed to move this fast … but super heroes were. The bright green and yellow track will lead you on a record setting journey, smashing all the previous title holders for height, speed, drops, inversions, length. It all starts with a 155 foot hill. Now that you’re committed, how about a bravery crunching 144 foot drop followed immediately by a 121 foot loop. Now you’re starting to feel super. On the blisteringly fast 100 foot diving loop, wave high to SUPERMAN Ultimate Flight next door, but don’t get too friendly because immediately you’ll soon be zooming into an ultra unique 72 foot inclined loop. The entire vertical loop is tilted at an angle, and you enter it sideways, because super heroes don’t need to fly in straight lines. Over the 4,155 feet of track, you’ll hug the ground, take crazy corkscrews, and do your best to break the sound barrier over and over again. All in a day’s work for Green lantern.

Swashbuckler:
Now, a lot of people say they like rides that spin. But how brave will they be when staring down the Swashbuckler, the gold standard of global gyration. Do you think you can take it. This legendary red and gold tilt a rama is daring you to try. Take your place atop a giant circular disk and get ready to spin. As the big wheel under your feet turns, hold onto the wall behind you. Pretty soon the whole world starts to rotate around you so fast you can’t even move. The fun starts out innocently enough with a gentle spin, but then rotates faster, then even faster. The spinning force will push you to your limit. You’ll be pinned to the side by sheer gravity, like in a giant centrifuge. As the wheel tilts on its axis to 45°, you’ll be spinning wildly out of control, but somehow magically held in your place. The Swashbuckler’s got your back.

El Toro:
Bull taming is an ancient art that is still practiced today. Now you are going to experience the best of the old world and the best of the new. At first glance, El Toro looks like a classic wooden roller coaster, with mind blowingly complex architecture rising high over the park. But it is in fact built with ultra modern engineering techniques, so you are going to get that classic feel with a smoother, faster, more exciting ride than those old wooden coasters ever dreamed possible. El Toro is one of the fastest and tallest wooden runs on Earth. 'El Toro' literally means 'the bull.' As you feel the power of the bull like train you’re riding in, you’ll realize how this thriller got its name. This is no peaceful bull— it bucks wildly so hang on tight. Ride him up nearly 19 stories to face the first terrifying drop of 176 feet. At a 76 degree angle, that would be the steepest drop of any wooden style roller coaster in the country. There is a reason El Toro was voted the #1 Wooden Coaster in the World by the 2011 Internet Coaster Poll,  and again in 2017 by Amusement Today's Golden Ticket Awards, and this is your first clue. You will zoom through the course at a whopping 70 miles per hour, over a series of insane hills designed to give you maximum airtime. In bull taming terms, that’s when your tail lifts off the saddle. There will be an amazing nine opportunities to experience this incredible lack of gravity. You’ll take a pair of stupendously steep hills, bank hard left and right, then yet another drop, swerving through the wooden architecture faster than any bull ever ran. The winding serpentine action will feel just like a bull trying to shake you off his back, but hang on tight. With bravery and honor, you can say that you tamed El Toro. For your safety, no loose articles were be permitted on El Toro. All loose articles must be secured in a locker or with a non rider before entering the queue line.

SUPERMAN: Ultimate Flight:
Up in the air, it’s a bird, it’s a plane. it could be you. This heroically proportioned 106 foot tall steel champion is not just one of the most creative and insanely designed roller coasters you will ever ride   it will allow you to experience the world through SUPERMAN’s eyes. Step over the threshold of the giant iconic letter S, and into the world of stupendous speed and effortless fluidity. The red and gold tracks shoot in front of and behind you just like the blur of SUPERMAN’s cape, as you travel at hyper sonic speeds most humans have never known. You’ll ride the way Superman flies face down and head first. This is the ultimate way to experience the challenge of the mind ripping new legend, the pretzel loop. Once you clear the first ten story drop, you’ll fly into this totally innovative loop design, which is really two inversions in one. You can tell from the name of the pretzel loop that you’ll be more than slightly twisted by this warped track. Then, with the grace of SUPERMAN, you’ll tackle a high speed horseshoe shaped curve, a breathtaking helix, and then a full 360 degree in line roll. Good thing you left your kryptonite at home. There is a sense of total fluidity and control as you maneuver this track. You’re a pro now, as you sail head first over the razor thin track. You'll have a wide open view of the world as it blurs past you, while soaring through the air like an adventurous super hero.

Kingda Ka:
There’s a reason this coaster is known as the King. Kingda Ka is quite simply the tallest coaster in the world and fastest roller coaster in North America. Is that impressive enough to warrant royalty. You bet it is. This upside down U shaped track bolts up 45 stories in the sky—that’s 456 feet high. This leaves all other coasters in the dust. And of course it’s going to take some mighty acceleration to get you to the top of it. You’ll leave the station going from 0 to 128 miles per hour in a jaw dropping 3.5 seconds. Actually, there won’t even be time for your jaw to drop. You’ll be shooting up that impossible height so fast, you won’t even have time to think, so just hang on. It’s 90° straight up. And once you get to the top you’ll be plummeting right back down in a 270 degree spiral that is not recommended for wimps. There is very little that can prepare you for a drop of this intensity. You’ll top it off with a 129 foot camel hump. Well, how else did you think the King got around. No loose articles will be permitted on Kingda Ka. Please store them in a locker or with a non rider before entering the queue.

Twister:
This strangely epic looking behemoth made entirely of rustic wood has only one purpose: to disorient you. Climb onto a classic seated top spinner, which doesn’t look like any classic you’ve ever seen. Carved from wood, The Twister is both ancient, and sent from the future. Either way, you’re going to flip over its relentless, high altitude spin action. About 40 riders pile on to a giant gondola platform of seats, mounted between two enormous, powerful arms. Those epic wooden arms will haul the entire platform and everyone on it 50 feet into the air. The only problem is, the platform you’re all sitting on is attached to the lifts with rotating hinges, and they pivot at will. When the momentum demands it, prepare to hinge forward, down, and around. You’ll flip end over end seven times, and you’ll take 4 Gs while you’re doing it. Round and round the enormous arms spin the gondola, and then without warning, whoosh, you’re spun like a pendulum. Spin backwards and forward, suddenly and without warning. The flips are utterly unpredictable and no two rides are ever the same. Because nobody knows when the seats are going to fly into their next 360° flip, just waiting for the next spin is the most nerve wracking part—or the best part, depending on how you look at it. Big crowds form at The Twister’s base for the ultimate spectator sport, waiting and cheering for those 360s. The anticipation makes for quite a show, unless you’re brave enough to ride—and then you are the show.

SkyScreamer:
Have a seat, but don’t get too used to having your feet on the ground. The chairs hanging in a peaceful circle around the stunning 242 foot tall tower at the center of Sky Screamer are about to liftoff. Don’t be fooled by the pretty star shaped gondola that is doing all the heavy lifting. This gondola is merciless, and you’re about to fly boldly through the air with the trees beneath your feet. You’re gently picked up and start to slowly swirl and revolve around the center. Up you go, cranked into the sky as the thin cables holding up your seat begin to spin. You’ll start to spin faster as you lift higher, so by the time you get to the top, you will be careening around the center base at 40 miles per hour. You’re sitting in a swing chair, dangling loose 24 stories up, getting hurled around in a 98 foot circle at nearly highway speeds—talk about airtime. All you’re going to feel is air, with your feet dangling in the sky and hair blowing in the wind. The world far below you is making more revolutions per second than you can count. While you’re up there, wave at Big Wheel, the enormous classic Ferris wheel that is about 100 feet below you. That’s how high up you are. On SkyScreamer, it’s like you’re flying on top of the world now.
