Survival ESL (English as a Second Language) classes will be held at Vineland Public Library beginning in September. The classes target individuals whose low English level prevents them from interacting with English speakers in their daily lives. The classes will focus on vocabulary for daily life and the basic grammar patterns of English.
All classes are free and open to residents of Vineland, Millville or Bridgeton (Vineland residents will have priority) who are at least 18 years old and grew up speaking any language other than English. Classes will meet in the Community Event Room, which is located on the first floor of the library. Interested students can register on the first day of class. They must bring their library card with them to register, and a notebook and pencil to use in the class.
Residents of Vineland can get a free library card by showing photo ID and proof of residence and filling out a short form at the library’s Front Desk.
