Introduction To Whole Health

Veterans and their families are invited to attend a Whole Health Workshop each second and fourth Friday of the month at Mary Beth Martin Regional Library in Tulsa. Whole health is a new approach to care designed to empower, equip, and treat Veterans in a way that puts them in control of their health and well-being.

VA staff and Veteran peers guide and support Veterans throughout this journey. Veterans engaging in the whole health approach have reported feeling more in control of their care and expressed greater satisfaction in how they communicate with their providers.

While the Whole Health System includes conventional treatment, it also focuses on self-empowerment, self-healing, and self-care for Veterans. Well-being programs include a wide range of complementary and integrative health practices, such as mindfulness meditation, yoga, nutrition, acupuncture, massage, and more.  Using their Personal Health Plan as a guide, Veterans participate in Well-being programs either within the VA or in their community.
