Marianna Ellenberg's Pawel & Ebola follows a dysfunctional brother and sister duo—the fictional offspring of infamous French neurologist and hysteria clinician Dr. Jean-Martin Charcot—whose world is disrupted by the arrival of a bizarre cult named “The Method.” A hybrid language and fragmented narrative convey a world torn between the precarity of global capitalism and the sexual repression and institutionalized misogyny of the 19th century. Organized by Lumi Tan.
