Mathnasium Learning Centers, an internationally known franchise with over 1,100 math-tutoring centers worldwide, announces the opening of its new tutoring center in Gambrills. Located at 2616 B Chapel Lake Dr., Mathnasium in Gambrills will open on April 1 and will be operated by local multi-unit owners, Kama and Paul Friedman.

Kama, a math major turned altruistic tutor, discovered the transformative power of Mathnasium after years of helping kids learn math in her spare time for free. Through the encouragement of her husband Paul, who first heard about the Mathnasium brand in a radio commercial, Kama began to explore Mathnasium franchising opportunities and realized the brand provided a perfect way of furthering her own passions for tutoring children.

Today, after more than a decade as Mathnasium franchisees, and with the help of their two sons, the entrepreneurial couple now owns and operates 15 Mathnasium Learning Centers across three states. Officially departed from her corporate career for good, Kama's ongoing mission has been to make math less intimidating, particularly for girls in STEM. Her new location in Gambrills marks the next step in the continued expansion of a multi-unit, family-run business that strives to turn math into an enjoyable experience for children in local communities.

Kama's dedication to the local communities where her businesses operate embody the commitment the Mathnasium brand has for its students as a whole, as she transforms math-averse students into college math majors.

To introduce the community, the Friedman family will host a free, public grand opening event on Saturday, May 18th, from noon to 2 pm. The event will feature All You Can Eat, fun family math activities, and special Founder's Club pricing.
