The Memorial Day Parade is back in Somerville!  Salute a veteran, starting at 8:15 am, on Monday, May 27, as the parade makes its way from the corner of Culver Street and East High Street to the Fire Museum on N. Doughty Avenue, and down West Main Street to S. Bridge Street. At this point, families participating in the Family Fun Ride may join the parade as it continues down S. Bridge Street to the Somerville New Cemetery.

“In January I made a promise, and now we are returning the Somerville Memorial Day Parade to the streets of our Borough,” said Mayor Brian Gallagher. “We will proudly display true honor to those who have sacrificed for our country. Grab your flags, join friends and neighbors, and let’s all remember what Memorial Day is all about!”

Drive a disabled veteran in the parade

We need approximately 5 convertible owners to drive veterans who are unable to walk in the parade.

At 7:45 am, all participants must line up at the the corner of Culver Street and East High Street
Once you arrive, we will match you with a veteran who will wave to residents as you drive your car in the parade
The time commitment for volunteer drivers is flexible. You may leave when the parade reaches the cemetery (approximately 10 am) or wait until the ceremony ends to drive the veteran back to the meeting point (approximately 11 am).
