The Wilson Committee on Patriotism will hold its annual Memorial Day ceremony beginning at 10 a.m. Monday on the Wilson County Courthouse Plaza.
The service will include the usual mix of patriotic music and observances.
The event will also include flag ceremonies involving the Junior ROTCs of Beddingfield, Hunt and Fike high schools; a POW/MIA service; placing of a wreath in honor of the county’s war dead; and prayers by James A. Faison, the committee’s chaplain.
The event concludes with a 21-gun salute and the playing of “Taps.”
The committee provides a hot dog lunch to veterans and their families following the service.
