Memorial Day is fast approaching, and as we have done in the past Friends of Lone Fir Cemetery will be on site at Lone Fir cemetery to help answer people’s questions and assist in locating loved ones.

For some Memorial Day is a time for reflection, to give thanks to the veterans who served our country, to visit family members and friends that have passed and for Friends of Lone Fir it is also a time to volunteer.

We will be there from 10:00am to 3:00pm May 27th.

In addition to our stationed area we will hosting a Veterans tour on both Sunday and Monday at 10am. May 26th and May 27th

Each tour will be at 10am both Sunday and Monday and should last between 1-2 hours.

The oldest wars of the United States will be the Tour focus. Veteran gravesites in the Lone Fir Cemetery include, the so-called "Indian Wars," the Civil War, the Spanish-American War, and World Wars I and II.

Both of these Veterans Tours will begin at the Soldiers Monument located at the center of the cemetery.
