NORWICH, CT. MEMORIAL DAY PARADE & COMMEMORATIVE CEREMONY MAY 27, 2024

The City of Norwich, in collaboration with the Norwich Area Veterans Council and the Greater Norwich Area Chamber of Commerce (GNACC), proudly presents their Annual Memorial Day Parade and Program on Monday, May 27, 2024. This heartfelt tribute honors heroes who made the ultimate sacrifice for our nation. We invite families to join us in commemorating their service, dedication and ultimate sacrifice.

The Parade starts at 12 Noon from in front of St. Patrick’s Cathedral and continues down Broadway to the Monument Area of Chelsea Parade. This year we are proud to honor our Norwich Area Veteran and Veteran Supporter of the Year.

Veteran: Bill (TOP) Lee, USMC Master Sargent retired, Marine Corps League Thames River Detachment #1334 member, Paul C. Houghton Detachment #681 Commandant and Norwich Area Veteran Council Delegate.

Supporter: Ms. Veronica Hoard, Vice President of the Norwich Veterans Council, member of the Abigail Hinman Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution, is an enthusiastic veteran supporter: associate member of Marine Corps League Thames River Detachment #1334, serving as their website manager, news letter editor and maintainer of their Wall of Honor for deceased members.

The Memorial Day Commemorative Ceremony will start immediately after the Parade. The ceremony will start at approximately 1PM at Chelsea Parade (across from NFA). New wreaths will be placed at the war monuments, THE EVENTS WILL BE HELD RAIN OR SHINE.
