This class is for patients of the CMH-OHSU Knight Cancer collaborative and/or their support person.
Qigong (chee-gung) has a positive and relaxing effect on the mind and body.
Please join us in this ancient exercise, which aims to unlock the body's natural healing mechanisms by aligning the body, mind and breath.
During the class, we will be performing simple and gentle repetitive exercises which are accessible to everyone and can be done while sitting or standing. The hour will include gentle movement and a short, guided meditation and will leave you ready to move comfortably and smoothly into the rest of your day.
The Society for Integrative Oncology gives a strong recommendation for Qigong for reducing anxiety and for pain, fatigue, and other symptom management. Qigong has been shown to lessen fatigue, sleep difficulty, depression, and improve overall quality of life.
