This is the 4rd farm-to-table dinner to be held at the Binghamton Urban Farm, and all proceeds will support VINES (Volunteers Improving Neighborhood Environments). The food will be prepared by the talented Lost Dog Cafe staff and ingredients are being sourced from Southern Tier farms. This year’s Summer Sunset Supper will be latin-inspired with recipes from food blogger Sonia Mendez Garcia, prepared by the Lost Dog Cafe’s Chef de Cuisine Joshua Lewis. Not only will this dinner be delicious, fresh, and local, proceeds will provide affordable fresh local produce to the community, create community gardens where people can grow their own veggies, and offer educational and professional development opportunities for youth.
Special thanks to the Lost Dog Cafe and the numerous farms and food producers (Shared Roots Farm, Main Street Farms, Heller Farms, Cascun Farm, McRey Farms, Engelbert Farms, De Colores Cookies & Mas Bakery, Parlor City Vegan and more) for supplying food for the event.
The event kicks off with a social hour with drinks and appetizers at 6:00 pm. Dinner featuring a delicious spread of dishes prepared by the Lost Dog Cafe and sourced from local farmers will be served at 7pm. Menu items include: Fresh Corn Tamales with Roasted Poblanos and Salsa Verde, a Salsa bar with an array of salsas, cheeses and pickled vegetables, Grilled Vegetables with Black Beans & Cilantro dressing, Marinated Tomato and Cucumber Salad, Yucatan Pork Pibil Tostadas, Grilled Chicken in a Molé Verde Sauce, Smothered Vegetarian Enchiladas, and more.
