Welcome back author Claude Clayton Smith to Stratford and the Library to celebrate the 3rd edition of THE STRATFORD DEVIL, the story of recently exonnerated Goody Bassett.

Smith is a Stratford native, Bunnell grad, and author of the historical novel THE STRATFORD DEVIL.

After the 1st edition was published in 1984, he spoke at Bunnell and the Stratford Library.

The 2nd edition (2007), was taught at Wooster Middle School as part of the 15-year educational effort behind the legislative resolution to absolve those accused of witchcraft in colonial times.

THE STRATFORD DEVIL has a wide audience appeal and has been read in secondary schools, colleges, universities, libraries, and local reading groups, which Smith has also addressed. The book is his legacy and a way to give back to the town where he grew up.
