Activities From:

Elachee Nature Science Center:

Learn about the figures in the night sky with Elachee Nature Science Center’s portable planetarium, the Starlab! This activity will be located inside the Brenau Downtown Center, just off of the Historic Downtown Square. The Starlab program will run every half hour beginning at 2pm, with the last program of the afternoon beginning at 4:30pm.

Sun Spotting with Robert Web:

View the surface of the sun (safely)! Astronomer Robert Webb will be on the square with a Hydrogen-Alpha telescope which allows viewers to see the sun, look for sun spots, and maybe even see a flare!

Chattahoochee Riverkeeper:

Can you believe that the ocean covers more than 70% of Earth? Join Chattahoochee Riverkeeper (CRK) to talk about the natural resource that makes our planet Earth so special – WATER! Expect to create your own Earth at the CRK station and learn about ways we can further protect our waters.

INK – Interactive Neighborhood for Kids:

Sticker crafts, bookmarks, and more are sure to delight your little astronauts!

Downtown Gainesville Branch of the Hall County Library:

Beginning at 2:30pm, enjoy “Blast-off Storytime”, an out of this world space-themed story time with books, music and more! Throughout The Star Trek, visit the Downtown Gainesville Library for lots of fun STEM activities including creating your own nebula with chalk, make marshmallow moon walkers, outer space trivia, Oreo moon phases, creating your own aliens with recycled materials, and make a straw rocket launcher!

Northeast Georgia History Center:

Learn the history of constellations and other celestial bodies with a connect-the-dot craft!
