WAYNESVILLE, N.C. (September 5, 2019) – With the litany of options and devices available, buying a new cellphone can be an overwhelming experience for some. For parents and families, things can get even more complicated when it comes to deciding which cellphone is best for their children, especially those returning to the classroom. How much screen time should be allowed and what is the most appropriate age that a child should be given a smartphone are all questions that families may face when making that big decision. Luckily, U.S. Cellular is here to help answer these questions and more.

U.S. Cellular associates in Waynesville on Tuesday, Sept. 24 at 5:00 p.m. at 225 Town Center Loop are hosting a free Device Workshop, where they can help you navigate the uncertainty of buying a smartphone for your child. The workshop is open to everyone, and you do not need to be a U.S. Cellular customer to attend.

“Many parents say safety is the main reason why they want to get their kids a cellphone, so by providing a strong network to our customers, we can ensure that you can reach them when and where you need,” Nathan Waddell, director of sales for U.S. Cellular in western North Carolina said. “Purchasing a cellphone is never a task that should be taken lightly, so our tech experts are equipped to help guide parents on the best smartphone practices for their children.”
