From Social Worker and Therapist Alissa Goldberg:

Parenting in the window of time where kids are moving out of adolescence and into adulthood can be confusing, overwhelming, and frustrating. Many young adults experience uncertainty, anxiety, and overwhelm when they think about the future. No parent wants to see their child struggle, and it can be hard for parents to feel confident that they are being helpful in ways that balance emotional and financial support without giving so much support that their emerging adults do not develop confidence in their ability to be independent.

We can help our young people develop resiliency, self connection and understanding, giving them confidence and tools to navigate adulthood. This talk will provide a review of the phenomenon, “failure to launch,” and relieve the uncertainty about how to proceed  by offering some specific strategies you can do to support your child during his/her “launch.”
