Martha Aizaga is a "Model Citizen"

AmericanTowns Hero

Martha Aizaga speaks for those who can't always speak for themselves. She helps give voice to women who have been beaten and abused, helping them to communicate their circumstances and encouraging them to participate in much needed support groups. Martha has been a dedicated volunteer of the Circulo de la Hispanidad as well as an advocate for victims of domestic violence at the Department of Social Services. She helps bridge the language gap and see to it that each person has access to the services that may help them. She also works to make everyone feel comfortable participating in the support groups, knowing how important it is to be connected to others and share what you're going through as a way of healing. In addition to donating her time, Martha also donates food and makes gift baskets to share with the women in the groups during the holidays. She was recently honored with a Citizens' Bank Citizen of the Week award, but the people who know Martha personally will tell you she is a model citizen every day and week of the year.
