Nathan Zick-Smith is committing to not driving or riding in a car as a passenger for the month of April and is inspiring others to do the same on April 21st in honor of Earth Day this year on April 22nd.
Nathan is currently a senior at Rowland Hall High School where he is the Environs Club co-president. He plans to major in Environmental Studies when he starts College at the University of Colorado, Boulder next year.
In addition to the personal statement he's making by not driving or being driven in a car, he's hoping to pick up donations for wind energy offsets through the University of Utah's Renewable Energy Campaign. His goal is to raise $1000.
To find out more or to make a donation, send an email to NathanZick-Smith@rowlandhall.org with your name, a phone number where you can be reached and, if you are making a pledge, the amount you'd like to donate. You can also follow Nathan on Twitter at: twitter.com/noautoapril
And if you'd like to make a pledge to support the environment in honor of Earth Day, there's still plenty of time to think up your own idea in support of alternative energy. Every little bit helps!
