Ronda Eick: Her Training Saved A Life

All Hero Nominee AmericanTowns Hero

Ronda Eick is a registered nurse whose training saved a life. Eick was attending a function at a hotel and had just walked in when calls for help caught her attention. Eick ran toward the screams where she found a mother holding a child just pulled from the hotel pool. The child was unresponsive, so Eick started performing CPR consistently for two minutes, then rolled the child on her side and was successful in getting her to start breathing. You might call that a miracle or being in the right place at the right time. Either way, it's good to get trained in how to perform CPR. Does your community have a program that offers basic CPR training? How about swimming lessons? Do you know someone who found themselves in a situation where they could help rescue someone or save a life? Nominate them for next week's AmericanTown's Heroes.
