Temar Boggs: Helped Save Missing Child

All Hero Nominee AmericanTowns Hero

Temar Boggs was hanging with his friends on the block, helping move a couch for an elderly neighbor when he found out about the missing girl. After seeing the number of emergency personnel gathering near his home, he and his friends decided to set on their own to search for the child. The friends scoured the neighborhood and area woods on foot and then came back to the block, but Temar decided to head out again on his bicycle with a friend, because he had a feeling he could find her. After riding their bikes a bit further than their last search on foot, they saw a car that didn't look right to them, so they followed it. When they got close to the car Temar could see there was a little girl in the front seat, so they kept following the car. At that point, Temar said the driver turned the car around and let the girl out - he guessed because the driver got scared when he realized he was being followed. Although the five-year-old was a bit stunned at her ordeal, she quickly ran to Temar after she got out of the car and asked him to take her to her mother. Temar first rode with her on his bicycle and then carried her the final steps before delivering her safely into the hands of emergency personnel who eventually reunited her with her mother. Temar received a huge hug and kiss from the grateful mom and is the hero of the neighborhood for helping bring the abducted child to safety. Do you know someone who took a chance and helped bring about a happy ending to a potentially tragic story? Nominate them for next week's AmericanTown's Hero.
