Join us for our 11th Annual MLK Day of Service!

With over a dozen community events and service opportunities now added to www.volunteernewyork.org/MLK

The Martin Luther King, Jr. National Day of Service is a day intended to empower individuals, strengthen communities, bridge barriers, create solutions to social problems, and move us closer to Dr. King’s vision of a “Beloved Community.”
Because this year we are limited in how we can serve together, we are hosting two special virtual events as part of our 11th annual MLK Day that will allow us as a community to safely break bread and break barriers in tribute to Dr. King. You will also find below a select number of #MLKDAY events and service opportunities that are hosted by our community partners, which take place from January 14 to January 19.

Volunteering with Equity in Mind

The global pandemic has shined a light on the glaring inequalities between those that have and those that have not. Join our MLK Day 2021 Webinar "Volunteering with Equity in Mind" where we will share volunteer tips on how best to advocate for those in our community and bridge the gap between those we serve and those who serve.

Virtual Sunday Supper

Gather around the table to break bread and barriers. Join us for a virtual “Sunday Supper” discussion inspired by Dr. King’s vision of people creating community across race, class, and faith. Participants will meet in small breakout rooms with a facilitator, to discuss relevant and timely topics in a safe space while hearing one another's thoughts and feedback.
