Staff Pick:

-The Missing American by Kwei Quartey - This quick-paced mystery provides a window into modern Ghanaian life, including the web of criminal activities centered on internet fraud. This is Quartey’s first novel featuring Detective Emma Djan who capably investigates the disappearance of an American in Ghana at the request of his son. Published in 2020, it’s available from the Alameda Free Library in both print and e-book formats. The 2021 sequel Sleep Well, My Lady is also a fast-paced, engaging mystery available from the Alameda Free Library – recommended by Rosemary V.
