On Dec 19th, the Wichita City Council awarded 10 Artist Access grants to local artists for 2024 and opened applications for the program. Applications were judged based on adherence to the goals of the program, quality of the application, and impact on the community.

The 10 grant recipients represent a range of disciplines including music, theatre and visual arts. Each will receive full funding for professional development opportunities.

“We are thrilled to see the reach of the Artist Access program expanding in 2024 and that we can provide more funding opportunities for Wichita-based artists,” said Director of Arts and Cultural Services Lindsay Benacka. “Individual artists are the backbone of a healthy arts ecosystem and investing in artists in this way will only further our mission in fostering a more creative community.”

Applications are now open for the next round of Artist Access Grant funding at wichita.submittable.com and will close on February 1, 2024.
