The Boston College Arts Council is thrilled to mark the 20th Annual Arts Festival with the theme Creating Together. Our theme showcases the last twenty years of BC's vibrant artistic culture through innovative collaborative programming.

April 26, 2018

12:00-1:00 Dance Showcase at O'Neill Plaza
A variety of dance styles.

12:00-1:00 - Chamber Music Society: Liederabend at Gasson 100
A performance of art song.

1:00 - 2:00 : Musical Theatre Wing at O'Neill Plaza
A cabaret performance of musical theatre songs.

1:30-2:00 : Sharp 11th at Stokes Art Tent
Jazz originals by Math Prof. Ned Rosen and Biology Prof. Peter Clote.

12:00- 1:00 : Nabokov's Lolita: An American in Russia at Lyons Hall 207
Lecture by Tatiana Ponomareva, literary scholar and director of the Vladimir Nabokov Museum. St. Petersburg. Russia.

12:00-12:30 : The Committee for Creative Enactments presents Improv Show at Stokes Art Tent

12:30-1:30 : Art Club at Stokes Art Tent
Community photography project. Interactive.

2:00-2:30 : Popular Styles Ensemble at O'Neill Plaza
Ensemble performs popular rock, blues, jazz, and fusion n umbers.

2:30 - 3:30 : Chamber Music Society at Gasson 100
A performance of chamber music.

3:00 - 4:00 : A Cappella Showcase at O'Neill Plaza
A variety of a cappella groups.

3:00 - 4:00 : Becoming a Jewish Artist: What's Gained, What's Lost at Devlin 018
Artist Ben Schachter speaks about how Jewish artists today accommodate or struggle with the Second Commandment.

4:30-5:30 : University Chorale at O'Neill Plaza
A collection of choral music, including folk, contemporary, and classical.

4:30-5:30 : Visit to the McMullen at McMullen Museum of Art
Natalia Majluf visits the McMullen Museum and holds an informal discussion with the McMullen Museum Student Ambassadors and other BC students. Prior registration required.

4:30 - 6:00 : Out of the Studios: Opening and Reception at Stokes Art Tent
Featuring an artist's talk and a discussion of the artistic process starting at 5:00 p.m.

5:30 - 6:00 : Irish Studies Music Program at O'Neill Plaza
Irish music and dance performance under the direction of Sheila Falls Keohane.

7:00 - 8:00 : Soul, Love & Meaning at Stokes Art Tent
Original spoken word poetry with topics ranging from hate to peace, love to disgust, past to present, and everything in between. Discretion advised.

7:30 - 9:00 Liturgy Arts Group at Gasson 100
Sacred-choral, contemporary Christian, and gospel music.

7:30 - 9:30 : Stylus Spring Launch and Reception at Stokes Hall S195
A diverse array of student writers present their works.

7:30-9:30 : Movie Night on the Terrace at McMullen Museum of Art, Third Floor Terrace
British documentary Exit Through the Gift Shop: A Banksy Film. Real or haux? Decide for yourself. Popcorn will be provided. Discretion advised.

A variety of a cappella groups.

2:30 - 3:30 : Boston College Symphony Orchestra at Gasson 100
Under the direction of John Finney.

2:30 - 3:30 : Licorice and Smoke Grenade at Devlin Hall 026
Short film screenings and Q&A with directors Gautam Chopra and Joe LaRocca.

3:30 - 4:30 : Chamber Music Society: Baroque at O'Neill Plaza
BC Baroque, BC Flute Ensemble. BC Cello Ensemble.

4:00 - 6:00 : Awards Ceremony and Reception at Stokes Art Tent
Please join Provost David Quigley. Dean Gregory A. Kalscheur. S.J., and special guests in recognizing the artistic accomplishments of BC students, faculty, and alumni.
This event is free and open to the public. Reception to follow.

6:00 - 7:00 : Photography Exhibition: Two Islands at Carney Gallery 203
Exhibition opening reception.

7:00 - 7:30 : Two Islands at Devlin Hall 101
Student filmmakers Marilyn Smith ' 18 and Angelos Bougas '21 preview their documentary about the current state of the migration crisis in Greece.
