36th Annual Fireworks and Air Show Spectacular

Arts and Entertainment

June 3, 2022

From: Dubuque Jaycees and Radio Dubuque Fireworks and Air Show

The 36th Fireworks and Air Show Spectacular is Sunday, July 3rd, 2022.

This year’s fireworks spectacular and air demonstration is dedicated to the men and women of our Armed Forces – the Army, the Navy, the Marines, the Air Force, the Coast Guard, National Guard, the Reserves, and to our “local” heroes – our firefighters, EMS personnel, and our police force. Special recognition will also be given to members of our local units who were called to active duty during Operation Iraqi Freedom. Members of these units will be a part of our Color Guard. During our Presentation of the Colors we will also read in Memorial the names of tri-staters who made the ultimate sacrifice during operations in Iraq and Afghanistan.

As you make your way down to show center at AY McDonald Park and Boat Ramp, be sure to stop by the AM 1370 KDTH, 92.9 KAT FM, 97.3 the Rock, and 101.1 the River broadcast booths and receive your free American Flag courtesy of Beidler Towing. As we enjoy the air demonstration, wave your American Flag proudly. The pilots who make this show happen cannot hear our thunderous applause, but they will be able to see us waving to them.

As we celebrate our Independence Day, please take a moment and say a prayer for those who have died for our freedom and then say another for those protecting our shores. Thank you and have a special 4th of July holiday…God Bless America.

Military displays and flyovers can change without prior notice. Please stay tuned to AM 1370 KDTH, 92.9 KAT FM, 97.3 the Rock, or 101.1 the River for the latest details.

Please note that the AY McDonald Park and Boat Ramp will be closed to all vehicular traffic, including boaters, from 10 PM on Saturday, July 2nd until the park reopens on Monday, July 4th.

No Drone Advisory:

Comelec Internet Services reminds you to leave your drones at home during the July 3rd Fireworks and Air Demonstration. The FAA waivered airspace restricts all flying objects within a 5 mile radius and surface to 15,000 feet high from show center. Violators will be charged, fined, and have their drone confiscated.

Leave the flying to the professionals!

Attention Boaters!!

The Mississippi River will be closed to ALL BOATERS from the Iowa to Wisconsin shores from Lock and Dam 11 to the Iowa/Wisconsin Bridge during the Military Air Demonstration. The United States Coast Guard will allow boaters in that area after the demonstration. At that time, boaters must observe the no wake rule and anchor on the east side of the red buoys. The no wake rule will be enforced through 12:00 midnight from the Dam to the Julien Dubuque Bridge!

Attention Pet Owners!!

Please be courteous and sensitive to others and your pet. The air show will have high-performance jets making a lot of noise and the fireworks are very loud. We want you to enjoy the show and ensure that others will also enjoy the event by leaving your pets at home.
