Safos Dance Theatre

Experience an evening of dance and storytelling with Tucson-based choreographer Yvonne Montoya. It will begin with a storytelling and luminaria making workshop. Share your stories with friends and neighbors and design your own luminaria that represents your light, love, and home. Yvonne is a 23rd generation Nuevomexicana who grew up making and lighting luminarias (or farolitos as they are called in the Northern part of the state) as a family tradition; one she is delighted to share. The workshop will be followed by a performance of select dances from Stories From Home.

Vintage Clothes

Phoenix-based rock band Vintage Clothes has infused the piano-based rock of Elton John with the psychedelic nature of The Flaming Lips into a combination of vintage styles with modern sensibilities much like David Bowie - creating a unique brand of elemental sounds with the melodicism of classic pop. They bring their rich piano and vocals, lively bass, and dynamic drums, all encapsulated in a nice, thick production that presents a repertoire that consists of all original material. Vintage Clothes has not only maintained a steady flow of new music that continues to push the boundaries of pop and rock music throughout their career, but they also appear to have no intention of stopping.
