Centerville, MA - The Arts Foundation of Cape Cod is pleased to announce that Executive Director Kevin M. Howard has been appointed to the Massachusetts Creative Economy Council.

The Creative Economy Council is an advisory Council to the Legislature and the Executive Office of Housing and Economic Development which was called to action by a law signed by Governor Patrick on October, 8th 2008. Its legislated purpose is to develop a statewide strategy for the enhancement, encouragement, and growth of the creative economy in Massachusetts, and to promoting through public and private means responsive public policies and innovative private sector practices.
According to Howard, "The Commonwealth has set direction and vision for a thriving creative economy sector as an engine for growth. The initiative to drive more opportunity in creative industries such as advertising, architecture, arts, film, web and fashion design dovetails with our established strength and leadership in cultural non-profits and other artistic and creative activities that are critical to sustainable economic development. I am honored to represent Cape Cod on the Council and to be able to bring back information on what is happening around the rest of the State."
