The Arts Foundation of Cape Cod announces the Sixth Annual Fall for the Arts will be celebrated from October 4 - November 1, 2014.

Fall for the Arts promotes and celebrates the vibrant arts and culture of Cape Cod. Cape residents and visitors enjoy and a spectrum of entertainment and activities at a wide array of venues including museums, galleries, theaters, libraries, restaurants, and parks.

Fall for the Arts Festival will be launched on October 1 with the participation of many of the leading regional arts and cultural venues. Cape Cod Media Group will be producing a weekly insert in the Cape Cod Times's widely read arts and cultural guide, CapeWeek. The guide will include a calendar of events for five regions of the Cape and Islands (upper, mid, lower, outer, and islands).

How can I participate in the Fall for the Arts Festival?
Cultural organizations and venues can:

  • Invite artist and craftspeople to work in-store or in their display windows
  • Offer arts-themed specials in your business
  • Extend the hours of your business during the month to increase your audience
  • Host an artist to conduct mini-workshops for kids and/or adults in an informal environment
  • Offer special discounts during the month in support of the arts
  • Display original artwork of local artists in windows
  • Offer a guest speaker on a featured art form, genre or artist to the general public
  • Host a "Kids Creation Station":  offer make-and-take art projects; create an outdoor chalk painting event, student stage, scavenger hunt, etc.
  • Present live music
  • Restaurants can add artwork to a specialty menu
  • Hotels can offer over-night stay packages

Artists can:

  • Host an open studio and demonstrate your craft or offer hands-on instruction
  • Collaborate with retail stores, restaurants or hotels to present an exhibition of your work
  • Combine an exhibit with a family-friendly hands-on instruction art class
  • Re-dedicate an existing artwork.  Is there a local favorite that is five, ten or twenty years old this year?  Celebrate the anniversary through the Fall for the Arts Festival!

Take advantage of the free marketing opportunities provided by the Fall for the Arts Festival!  Submit your event to be included in the festival. To list your event, email details of your planned event as well as a hi-res image to If submitting an image, please provide the name of the photographer/artist and permission to use the image.

Listings should be submitted by September 17 to be included in the special CapeWeek pullout guide. However, events may also be submitted on a rolling basis for the weekly guide and those listings should be submitted 2 weeks prior to the events. Events will be included in our online listings as they are received.
