On Monday, August 15, 2022, at approximately 7:01 PM, Albany Police Officers were dispatched to the area of the 400 block of Jackson on a report of a suspicious vehicle (an older model black Acura). Albany officers responded and located the vehicle driving in the area and initiated a traffic stop for a vehicle code violation. Upon contacting the three occupants, the front passenger, an adult male from Albany, was found to have an active felony warrant for robbery and was subsequently taken into custody. A search of the vehicle resulted in the discovery of a loaded, unregistered firearm with a high-capacity magazine. In addition to the robbery warrant the individual was also arrested for carrying a loaded firearm in public, carrying a concealed weapon in a vehicle, felon in possession of a firearm, possession of a large capacity magazine and felon in possession of ammunition.
