ANNUAL APPEAL 2022

BRAVO to our members and friends who made the Dec 4th Holiday Party at the Squantum Club such a cultural gem! This social gathering reached a triumphant high with 100 friends coming together to celebrate. It was a joyous event and we thank you for making this such a success. We are happy to bring in the new year having ended on such a high note.

Welcome to our newly elected president, Antoine Jonquais a native of Rouen France.

He has regularly supported the Alliance and brings his enthusiasm and skills to the helm. President Jonquais and members of the Board of Directors and staff had the honor to host Boston’s new Consul General of France, Mustafa Soykurt, on his visit to our Alliance Française center on Smith Street, Providence.

The Alliance has emerged once again as a cultural beacon after this past year of educational and social activities. We hosted Conversations in French at the weekly Café Croissants, held the Annual Fête de la Musique, celebrated Bastille Day at Maré Rooftop, and entertained a full courtyard at the Providence Art Club for a September Soirée. We were able to return to a schedule of both monthly Apéro meetings at the Art Club and our member luncheons at Brown Faculty Club where French conversation was flourishing. November brought us together at the Music Mansion for an enchanting evening with French Piccolo master, Jean Louis Beaumadier. We also returned to Immersion Day this year and a revisit from Santa at the Childrens’ Holiday Party.

We are proud of our cultural events and look forward to 2023!

We wish to express our appreciation to everyone for supporting our events this year. It was wonderful to see your smiling faces in person.

Thank you to our Language Center faculty who have excelled again this year through engaging classes and private tutoring lessons. We continue to offer remote lessons which attest to the success of our teachers to reach, teach, and embrace our returning students. We are also thankful for the support of our donors who provide the opportunity to continue our mission. Our funding comes from our activities and the generous donations from our members.

Please consider a contribution to this Annual Appeal to keep our momentum going. We have considerable repairs upcoming for building maintenance, and increased costs of operation.

Your generosity has been fundamental to our success.

Merci beaucoup.
