Aloha Freedom Festival (50th State Fair) 2023

The new festival replaces the state fair, offering plenty of local character.

When you think of a state fair, you imagine agricultural areas of the Midwest or Northwest. However, the 50th state also offers America's favorite entertainment. The Aloha Freedom Festival, which replaced the 50th State Fair,  is held for three weeks at the Aloha Stadium in Honolulu from mid-July to August. All of the traditional attractions are there—thrills of midway rides, competition, games, fair food, and more. The Pharaoh's Fury is a spectacular attraction, a ship that swings riders in the air. A petting zoo and the Amazing Anastasini circus are kids' favorites.

The Freedom Festival is one of the largest entertainment events in the state. Its general admission fee is $5. However, you can get in for free if you are one of the first visitors who can ask for a free ticket in Hawaiian, just say: "I likiki k?niwala na?u, ke ?olu?olu."

Cirque Ma’Ceo

May 26 - July 9, 2023

For the First time in Honolulu, Cirque Ma’Ceo, an Extravaganza of Equestrian excellence showcasing artists from around the world!

The circus has always been one of the most anticipated events of the year and we’re thrilled they’ve made the journey all the way here to Honolulu!  The people of Hawaii are in for a special treat as Cirque Ma'Ceo, a one-of-a-kind circus featuring exotic horses and acrobats, is set to take center stage at the 50th State Fair. This presentation is a brand-new experience as Cirque Ma'Ceo has never performed here before.

The show is a magical blend of equestrian arts, acrobatics, and theatre. Cirque Ma'Ceo is a unique type of circus as it revolves around the relationship between man and animal. The show’s star performers are a group of talented horses, well-trained by their handler and director of the production, Olissio Zoppe. These beautiful creatures take center stage with their elegance and power, in what is a thrilling display of acrobatics that will have the audience on the edge of their seats.

The acrobats themselves are masters of their craft, bringing their unique flair to the performance. As they glide through the air with grace and power, the audience is mesmerized by their acrobatic moves. Cirque Ma'Ceo has been described as an equine Cirque du Soliel and takes the circus experience to a whole new level by infusing an artistic expression of the equine and human bond.  The show is sure to leave a lasting impression on anyone lucky enough to attend!
