In observance of the Labor Day holiday, the OptumServe COVID-19 test site at the Health and Human Services building will be closed on Monday, September 5, 2022. The site will offer a make-up testing day on Tuesday, September 6, 2022 from 7 AM to 3 PM. Register for no-cost testing at the lhi.care website or by calling 1-888-634-1123. OptumServe may accommodate walk-ins on a limited basis. This site includes the “Test-to-Treat” format where individuals may get tested, assessed by a medical provider, and (if appropriate) prescribed antiviral pills for treatment. Persons should bring a list of all medications and supplements for assessment by the medical provider. PCR test swab collection is available from OptumServe upon request.

In order to accommodate the make-up testing day, the COVID-19 vaccine clinic will be closed on Tuesday morning, September 6, 2022 and will resume scheduled operations on Thursday afternoon, September 8, 2022 from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM. To schedule a vaccine appointment visit the myturn.ca.gov website or call 1-833-422-4255. Appointments are prioritized; walk-ins must arrive at least ½ hour before the clinic end time. Novavax is another COVID vaccine option for those ages 12 and over. Retail pharmacies also continue to offer COVID vaccines, check the vaccines.gov website for availability. To schedule a vaccination for homebound individuals, call Public Health at (209) 223-6407.

The free at-home test kit ordering through the covid.gov test website will be discontinued this Friday, September 2, 2022. To order at-home test kits before Friday, visit covid.gov/tests or call 1-800-232-0233. An At Home Testing fact sheet is available, and COVID-19 testing options within Amador and the surrounding areas are listed on the Amador County Testing Sites website. Those who test positive that are at elevated risk for severe illness should promptly seek medical advice to see if they qualify for outpatient treatment.
