Know Your Recommended Screening Tests

It's a real reason to celebrate: The cancer death rate has dropped 33% over the past three decades! And early detection is one crucial reason for that drop – including screening tests to find certain cancers early, when they may be easier to treat.

Did you know that cancer screening guidelines are updated based on new research and changes we see in cancer statistics? For example, because studies found more people under the age of 50 were developing colorectal cancer, the recommended age to begin regular screening for people at average risk is now 45.

In honor of Colorectal Cancer Awareness Month, today we’re urging you to know your risk and double-check which tests are right for you. This is especially important if you’ve recently had a milestone birthday or if it’s been a while since you’ve checked the guidelines. Choose your age group below to learn more for yourself – or to check for a loved one.

Because we know that 1 in 2 men and 1 in 3 women will be diagnosed with cancer in their lifetime and that early detection saves lives, this could be the most important thing you do today!
