“I want my legacy to be that I loved hard.” -- Jamil, Metastatic Breast Cancer Thriver

When Jamil learned she had stage 4 metastatic breast cancer, her thoughts immediately went to her children.  

Her youngest was only 5, and her family had already lived through two other cancer diagnoses – Jamil’s husband, Rick, was treated for his second type of cancer, colon cancer, just a few years before. Jamil knew right away that she and her family would need help through every step of this journey. She called us.  

Thanks to supporters like you, Jamil was able to get rides to her treatments so Rick could stay with the kids, connect with American Cancer Society Reach To Recovery^® volunteers for helpful breast cancer guidance from survivors, and get her questions answered by our cancer information specialists.
