Super Typhoon Mawar is bearing down on the U.S. territory of Guam and the Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands with intense winds, flooding rain and a life-threatening storm surge.

Typhoon Mawar directly hit the U.S. territory of Guam with the strength of a Category 4 hurricane today, devastating the nearly 150,000 coastal residents of the island. Destructive, 140 mph winds and a storm surge of up to 10 feet make this the strongest typhoon to hit Guam in two decades.

Please, James, will you help us support these individuals, families and communities as flooding, power outages and chaos become their reality?

The American Red Cross has relief items on the island, including water, shelf-stable meals, clean-up kits, tarps and hygiene supplies. This relief work is only possible because of the generosity of people like you who are willing to help families in their darkest moments.

Please, rush support to those impacted by Typhoon Mawar:

$50 can provide a full day of food and shelter for one person at a Red Cross emergency shelter.

$150 can provide a crib for an infant in a Red Cross emergency shelter.

$360 can deploy an emergency response vehicle for one day, delivering meals, snacks, relief supplies.

Your critical support for people affected by Typhoon Mawar in U.S. territories including Guam enables the Red Cross to prepare for, respond to and recover from this disaster.

We will reach out with additional updates as they become available, and we thank you so much for helping communities impacted by this devastating storm.

Thank you for standing with us,
