The Arts Foundation of Cape Cod is pleased to announce the Tenth Annual Cape-Wide Comcast Art Scholarship T-Shirt Design Competition. This competition is open to every 5th through 12th grade student living on Cape Cod, including those in public, parochial, private, charter, technical, and home schools. The winner's original art will be featured on the official T-shirt for the 28th Annual Pops by the Sea concert. Presented by the Arts Foundation of Cape Cod, this event draws nearly 15,000 people to the Hyannis Village Green for the only Cape Cod appearance of the Boston Pops Esplanade Orchestra.
The Cape-wide Comcast Art Scholarship T-Shirt Design Competition winner will have the opportunity to share his or her talent with a wide audience of concertgoers, sponsors, and volunteers on the day of the event. The official T-shirts are proudly worn by over 300 concert volunteers, and will also be sold to the general public. In addition, the contest winner will be awarded a $500 cash scholarship and will be featured in our 2013 program book. The winner's school art department will also receive a $500 cash award. Each entrant will receive two general admission lawn tickets to the concert.

According to Kevin M. Howard, Executive Director of the Arts Foundaiton, "This is one of the most exciting parts of the Pops by the Sea program because it supports arts education and creativity. With over 500 admissions the past several years, we know that this is something that our creative student community awaits with great anticipation."

The 28th Annual Pops by the Sea concert is on Sunday, August 11, 2013. The Boston Pops Esplanade Orchestra will perform on the Hyannis Village Green from 5 PM to 7 PM. All proceeds generated by the event are used for the programs of the Arts Foundation of Cape Cod, which support, promote, and celebrate the arts, culture, and heritage of Cape Cod throughout the year.
Students may request guidelines and an entry form by e-mail to, or through a participating school's art department.
The closing date for the competition is April 26, 2013. An exhibition of the finalists' work and a reception honoring the winners will be held on May 28, 2013.
