From: Arts Gowanus

Hello art lovers!

There's lots of art to check out in Gowanus this week!

Also, Open Source has launched an Open Call for an Artist-in-Residence. And, Arts Gowanus is accepting submissions for our second annual Pride Month outdoor exhibition!

OPEN CALL AT OPEN SOURCE & KOKO NYC!

Apply to be the Artist-in-Residence at the KoKo Lot (440 19th Street)!

Presented by Open Source Gallery, The Lot Artist Residency is an opportunity for artists to work in The Lot, an outdoor workshop space in Brooklyn, for two months, April 15 - June 15, 2024. One artist will be selected to utilize the space, creating work that engages with the community and themes of sustainability. The artist-in-residence will have a dedicated workspace, a secure place to store materials, and 24/7 access to the space. Artists will be required to present one free public event over the course of the residency.

Artists are encouraged to explore the opportunities that an outdoor space in Brooklyn provides. The Lot is currently home to KoKo NYC, Open Source Gallery’s art education program, and the children’s programs will be operating concurrently in The Lot throughout the residency. The Lot is also home to a garden created with the philosophy of reclaiming urban spaces.

Visit opensource.org for more info and to apply.

Deadline for applications: March 10, 2024
