ANNOUNCING: ARTS GOWANUS GROUP EXHIBIT AT THE OTHER ART FAIR!

Also happening at the Artists Meet-Up on March 28: Arts Gowanus will  distribute blank water tower templates for a group exhibit planned for the spring edition of The Other Art Fair! The fair will take place at ZeroSpace in Gowanus from May 16-19.

There will be 50 water tower templates available for pick up at the Threes Brewing event on a first-come basis. One water tower per artist.

Like our previous Tower shows, artists who receive a template are free to transform the iconic image however they like.

Participating artists will be asked to donate $25 to Arts Gowanus for material costs and installation. This will be collected at the Threes Brewing event.

RULES:
-All artwork must be kept to the 11" x 17", portrait orientation.
-All final art must include part of the water tower image.
-Draw, paint, collage... Use whatever technique you like to transform the image!
-Have fun!

The final works will be part of a group exhibit at The Other Art Fair. All pieces will be available for purchase and priced at $200. TOAF will keep 18% of each sale and the artist will receive the remainder.

See you at Threes Brewing on Thursday, March 28 (6-9pm)!

OPENING THURSDAY AT THE YARD: GOWANUS

The Yard: Gowanus proudly presents Next Season featuring the
paintings of Gregg Emery, curated by Jasmine Pierik.

Emery's paintings, with their intricate layers of both texture and meaning, draw inspiration from the cyclical nature of existence, encapsulated in Elif Shafak's words: "Arboreal-time is cyclical, recurrent, perennial; the past and the future breathe within this moment..."

Throughout the duration of the exhibit, visitors are invited to participate in a blind auction, an exciting opportunity to acquire stunning artworks without traditional financial constraints.

Exhibit on view March 9 to May 16.

Brown traveled extensively in post-Soviet countries for 20 years as the director of CEC Artslink, a transnational arts organization that enables artists and cultural workers to experience dialog and collaboration across cultural and political boundaries. Her work has been exhibited internationally, most recently at the Croatian National Museum of Modern Art in Zagreb.
